Goddamnit.  This morning, I discovered that I'd fucked up the due date for one of my assessments - I thought it was due next Tuesday, but actually it was due on the 23rd.  I kinda don't know what to do.  Thinking about asking if I can do this paper in Semester 2 instead, because I obviously don't have the spare time for all this.  >_<

And I won't have any spare time at all during the next two weeks, as my boss has gone on annual leave and is out of the country.  The other person who makes up our management team is still in the Philippines too.  So yeah, I'm the only manager left at work - but I do have an RN looking after clinical matters.  Still, I'm the holding the front line by myself for a while, which oughta keep me pretty busy!

We had a shared lunch at work on Friday, which was DEE LISH USSSSSS!  And fun.  And then the boss left, and I had to do a million things at once.  Got home at 6pm, and then Kazzy took me out to get a manicure (well, technically he dropped me at the nail place and then came back 20 minutes later, but it was still really lovely of him).  We had Nandos for dinner, and he bought us a shaker of Peri Peri chip sprinkle, yum!  Might have to crack out the deep fryer for winter & do some chippies.  ^_^

When we got home, we stacked DVDs and CDs in our new stands - we need more DVDs!  But it looks very cool.

I've spent this morning studying & doing washing & drinking coffee, but I'm about to take a lunch break (enchiladas!) and watch some NCIS.

Holy shit.

So freakin' tired.

Worked 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday last week (and a bit later on a couple of those days), and then went in to help Kazzy train newbies at work on Saturday, from 8.30am until nearly 5pm.  6 DAY WEEKS ARE RIDICULOUS.

Spent most of Sunday being lazy, so on Monday I had all the weekend shift authorisations & reports to do, PLUS it's a payroll week this week.  So I finished at 6pm on Monday and Tuesday, and 5pm today.  Hopefully tomorrow I'll get away early, because I have some banking to do.

Was invited to a hens party this weekend, but since I'm so behind on my study, I had to decline.  Sucky.  :-(

Still need to book my bus tickets for Easter (catching public transport on a holiday - I must be nuts).  I'm looking forward to it, though.  Kazzy is gonna come down on the Monday to pick me up, so I will be able to bring some of my books back.  Yay!  Plus, it will be good to see Mum.

Speaking of parents, I rang Dad last night and had an hour-long chat with him.  He's finally got a job!  Curtain sales again (he did it when we lived in Australia ~20 years ago).  He sounds much better too, like he's finally taking care of himself.  Was great to hear.

Anyways, Ima go do something not computer related (like maybe see if I can coax new-kitty inside... she's still skittish).

Such a busy week!

Dinner on Tuesday was lovely; was so good to see A. & A. again.  They're good people, and are fun and easy to hang with.  It was really nice to eat a good meal & watch some TV with friends.

And then on Thursday, we had fish & chips for dinner at Muriwai beach with M & JC.  Walked along the sand as the sun set, until it got cold enough that we had to return to the car.  Good times.

Friday was a bit of a clusterfuck at work (misplacing $150 = stressful), but I managed to get a lot done in the end.  My boss seemed a bit unhappy too, which made things less fun.  She's going away for her annual leave in a couple of weeks, which hopefully will cheer her up.  I'm slightly freaked by the thought, however, as my work load is gonna triple.

You know, in addition to the 200 research paper I'm taking this semester.  0_0

Plus, Kazzy is gonna be ridiculously busy with both his jobs in March, surveying and whatnot.

AND we have J&R's wedding on the 20th!  For which I have to provide food!  At least I have sorted my dress, so just need to find shoes & jewellery & some cute bowls for displaying desserts.

Um, yeah.

It's hard to feel worked up about any of this, however, because this weekend I purchased three things:
  1. CSI seasons1-6 in a pack with an aluminium case
  2. Gin Wigmore - Holy Smoke on CD
  3. aaaaaaaaand The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K. Jemisin!!!
Yeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssss!

The good news is that Lilo came home.  Yay!  She spent today alternating between sleeping on my desk and sitting on my window-sill, as far as I can tell.  She certainly seems happy enough.

Work was good today.  I feel like I'm finally settling in.  There are still plenty of things for me to learn, but every day I get the hang of something new, so I'm making progress at least.  I've also begun reorganising stuff, and there's a ton of archiving to do, which will clear up a lot of space in my office.  Tomorrow is payroll day, and ought to be fun considering how many staff we've had off sick etc.  My boss is one very awesome chick, though, so I know she'll help me out a lot.  I'm very lucky.

My exam on Friday was much easier than I thought, and now I'm super-impatient about getting my grade.  Better be worth the money I paid for that paper - the actual learning process itself certainly wasn't.  And now it's difficult to be motivated about my next few papers.  It's a bad sign when I'm more interested in reading books about MS Access than I am in studying for a paper!

I finally watched season one of Farscape.  It grew on me, although I'm not fanatical about it.  The Aussie accents still throw me!  Might give the next season a shot and see how it goes.  Possibly all my fan energy has been spent on NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles, which I am currently loving.

Tomorrow we're having my cuz and her partner over for dinner.  I can't wait; it's been ages since they've visited us.  I'm gonna do some chicken & chorizo kebabs for the bbq, along with chinese honey sausages and some lamb steaks.  Add a salad and some minted baby potatoes, and we're done!  Then it'll be time to sit back and watch House at 8.30pm.  :-D
